Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Kicks Off Wednesday

It’s back and bigger than ever - the 58th annual Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show is living up to its reputation as one of the largest boat shows in the world.

More than 1,200 boats are taking over six marinas and one convention center as the five-day experience is expected to attract an international crowd of more than 100,000 buyers and sellers.

People from over 30 countries will be here for the spectacle that brings in millions of dollars.

“There’s going to be a lot of sales going on before the show,” said the event’s Vice President, Andrew Doole. “Boats are changing, products are changing, stock market being in a high. We’re looking forward to a lot of sales happening.”

Guests can expect free riverboats and water taxi transportation to get around as well as exotic cars and anything you could imagine. When it comes to preparation, all hands are on deck – literally – to make it all happen.

“It takes us about three weeks on site to set up, almost a month before the show we’re putting equipment down, we’ve got a thousand tractor trailer loads of equipment that we move from our warehouse,” said Doole.

Event organizers say there’s something for everyone, including kids fishing clinics and family boats. For more information, including tickets and hours of operation, click on this link.
