Motorcyclist Killed, Two Others Hospitalized in Highway Crash

Man on motorcycle hits car that was helping with previous accident

A motorcycle rider is dead and two others went to the hospital after a horrible chain of events led to a fiery crash in Hialeah early friday morning.

State troopers say the incident started just after 1 a.m., on the southbound side of the Palmetto Expressway near Northwest 103rd Street.

The driver of a Honda Civic had rammed into the back of a construction truck and three people in a Chevy Tahoe had stopped to help when they suddenly became victims of a second, more serious crash.

A woman who was a passenger in the Tahoe said a trio of motorcycles came up behind them, and one motorcycle struck her car and exploded. The driver, identified by police as 25-year-old Adrian Cespedes Kelly, died on impact. Police said his motorcycle was "traveling at a high rate of speed."

The woman said the other motorcyclists took off. The bike ended up under the Civic, which also caught fire.

At least one man suffered severe burns. He and the Honda driver are recovering in the hospital Friday morning.
