Police Searching for Missing Miramar Woman

Police are searching for a college student from Miramar who was last seen before she left for school in DeLand.

Miramar police said Valentina Arango left her home at noon Sunday and arrived at Stetson University Hatter Hall in DeLand at 5 p.m., according to the GPS on her cellphone. She left in a blue 2015 Toyota Yaris with Florida tag 201AXB.

"My worst fear, you don't know who she's with, you don't know people out there and what they can do," her mother told NBC 6 as she traveled through central Florida, looking for her daughter.

Arango called her mother when she arrived at school and told her she was going to take a nap. Her mother called her later that night, but she didn't answer.

Her mother talked to her Monday morning and night, but since then, she hasn't heard anything from her daughter.

The last transaction Arango made on her credit card was made that same day at a Sunoco Gas Station in DeLand. Police said no one could verify her physically being at the gas station or university.

Arango has brown hair and brown eyes, stands 5-foot-2 and weighs 105 pounds. Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call the Miramar Police Department at 954-602-4000 (and press 0).
