A second arrest has been made in a shooting outside of a popular Southwest Miami-Dade restaurant that involved the nephew of a county commissioner.
Officers arrested 19-year-old Armanny Febles and charged him with several counts, included attempted murder as well as aggravated battery and robbery with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held with no bond.
According to an arrest report, Febles and a second subject – identified as Anthony Fernandez – met with two men behind the Frankie’s Pizza on Southwest 40th Street allegedly to buy marijuana cartridges.
After the two victims – identified as 18-year-old Enrique Bovo and 19-year-old Christian Benitez – asked to see the money to complete the deal, Febles pulled out a weapon. Benitez fled the scene as Febles fired two shots into their car, with one grazing Benítez and striking Bovo.
Bovo, who is the nephew of Commissioner Esteban L. Bovo Jr., was treated at Kendall Regional Medical Center.
