    • At least a dozen schools from Miami-Dade and Broward counties will take part in a nationwide scheduled walkout on Wednesday.

    • The walkout comes 10 days before thousands of people will take part in the March For Our Lives event scheduled for March 24th.

    At least a dozen schools from Miami-Dade and Broward counties will take part in a nationwide scheduled walkout on Wednesday – part of an effort to protest what organizers say has been inaction on gun reform.

    The National School Walkout, led by the Women’s March’s Youth EMPOWER group, so far as over 1,000 schools taking part – with students, teachers and administrators scheduled to leave their classrooms around 10 a.m. to stand in solidarity following the deadly mass shooting inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14th.

    The walkout comes 10 days before thousands of people will take part in the March For Our Lives event scheduled for March 24th – with satellite events scheduled across the country, including one scheduled for Parkland to honor the 17 lives lost.
