Chaos broke out and a Fourth of July fireworks show was cut short while police investigated reports of a suspicious package near Bayfront Park in downtown Miami.
City of Miami police tweeted bomb squad units investigated the package behind Bayside Marketplace. The package turned out to be a suitcase and was deemed safe, police later said.
There have were no evacuations to Bayside Marketplace or Bayfront Park and both remained open to visitors, police said.
