“The Voice”: Karina Iglesias Knocks Out Fellow South Florida Singer Monique Abbadie

About 25 people rooted for Iglesias at the Sports Grill restaurant in Kendall

Karina Iglesias is on to another round of NBC's hit show “The Voice.”

On Monday she made it through the knockout round, beating out fellow South Florida singer Monique Abbadie.

About 25 members of Iglesias’ posse rooted her on at the Sports Grill restaurant in Kendall.

Her eightysomething grandmother could hardly contain herself while watching Iglesias on television.

Iglesias’ mother, Maritza Funez, beamed with pride Monday night.

"I'm so proud of her, I know she's going to make it and I just wish her the best," she said.

It was quite a coincidence when Iglesias and Abbadie went head to head Monday night.

Iglesias belted out a passionate rendition of Lenny Kravitz's “Are You Gonna Go My Way.”

It was an impressive showing – so much so that Latina sensation Shakira couldn't help but select Iglesias over Abbadie.

Iglesias takes another shot at stardom on next week's episode.
