Alligator Bites Man Diving for Golf Balls at Florida Course

A man was bitten by an alligator while diving for golf balls at a southwest Florida golf course Friday, officials said.

The 50-year-old man was at the Rotunda Golf and Country Club Palms Golf Course in Englewood when he was attacked around 1 p.m., Charlotte County Sheriff's Office officials told WFLA.

The man, who was bitten on his left arm, managed to free himself and get to land, where he was able to call 911.

Rescue workers responded and rushed the man to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, where his condition was unknown.
