Arrest Made After Deadly Shooting Inside Northwest Miami-Dade Bar

Miami-Dade Police have arrested the man they say fatally opened fire on another person inside a popular bar following an argument.

Investigators took 31-year-old Cornelius Goodman into custody Sunday morning, charging him with second degree murder and a previous case involving grand theft. He is currently being held on no bond.

Police say 23-year-old Jonathan Soto got into an verbal argument with someone inside the Tropicana Bat off NW 79th Street and 10th Avenue around 4:15 a.m. on Saturday. The argument turned physical and led to Goodman pulling out a gun and shooting Soto several times. Soto was taken to Ryder Trauma Center, where he died from his injuries.

Police did not say if Goodman was the person who the victim was arguing with before shots were fired.
