Bad Education: Teacher Caught in Drug Addled DUI: Report

Coke, weed, pills found on veteran Broward educator

A Broward high school teacher was hit with a host of drug charges after he was caught drunk driving with a cornucopia of dope, pills and powder in his car while speeding in Aventura, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Peter Epstein has been removed from his teaching position at Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines after his Aug. 7 arrest on DUI and drug possession charges, the paper reported today.

The 38 year old was driving his gray Ford Mustang 80 miles per hour down the 19100 block of Biscayne Boulevard when he was pulled over, according to the report.

Police found a bag of marijuana in his pocket and a bag of cocaine in his car. They also found what appeared to be a bag of ecstasy in the cop car he was detained in.

Epstein, a 16-year veteran of Broward schools, was given a position where he won't interact with students, pending the police investigation, according to Flanagan spokeswoman Marsy Smith.

A substitute will fill in for Epstein, who teaches multiple grade levels and serves as a student government adviser.
