A group of thieves made off with $5,000 worth of pricey sneakers after they drove right through the front door of a Miami athletic store yesterday, police said.
The brazen smash and grab was caught on surveillance video at the Foot Locker store on the 1000 block of Southwest 67th Ave. just after 6 a.m.
The video shows two cars driving right through a security fence at the front of the store, allowing the crooks, who were wearing hoods and coverings on their face, to slide in and make off with the shoes.
The thugs made off with several pairs of Nike shoes, including "Air Jordans," "Air Force" high tops and the exclusive "Nike Jordan CP3," which won't be on sale until Jan. 2.
Miami-Dade police are looking for the five or six male suspects, who were driving in a 4-door white or ivory older model Nissan Maxima, as well as a 4-door white or ivory older model Nissan or Infinity.
They also want anyone who comes in contact with the exclusive Nike shoes to call Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
