Cheap Seats: Most Major South Florida Attractions Cost More Than Ticket Prices for ‘Canes, Dolphins This Weekend

What to Know

  • According to StubHub, the lowest price for the ticket to the game between Miami and Virginia for Friday is $9.49.

Right now, it’s not the best of times to be a fan of the Miami Hurricanes or Miami Dolphins – with both teams combining for a 2-7 record with the Canes having both victories – but at least there is one bright side: it doesn’t cost a lot to go see them play.

Earlier this week, South Florida sports radio host Andy Slater tweeted a message of how ticket prices were not on the side of sports in the area – so much so that it cost more to go to Zoo Miami than to see either team play. As of Friday, not much has changed.

According to StubHub, the lowest price for the ticket to the game between Miami and Virginia for Friday at 8 p.m. inside Hard Rock Stadium is $9.49 while tickets for the Dolphins’ game on Sunday against the Washington Redskins is $17.49 – both less than the cost for FIU’s game Saturday against Charlotte, where the lowest price for a ticket is $21.59.

Here’s a list of all the attractions across Miami-Dade County where it costs more for the lowest priced ticket than it does to see either the ‘Canes or Dolphins in action:

  • Top Golf (Miami Gardens or Doral) - $25
  • Zoo Miami - $23 for adults or $18 for children under 12
  • Miami Seaquarium - $48
  • Jungle Island - $48
  • Tidal Cove in Aventura - $75
  • Santa’s Enchanted Forest - $35.51 before tax

If you want to go swimming at Venetian Pool in Coral Gables, it will cost you $13 while one location is cheaper than both teams – Coral Castle in Homestead, where you can get in for just $8.
