Community Leaders, Miami Police Push for End to Gun Violence

Community leaders and residents will be joined by Miami Police at a news conference Friday to plea for an end to gun violence.

Rev. Jerome Starling, president of the Rickia Isaac Foundation, organized the Save a Life news conference, which will take place at 64th Street and 13th Avenue.

Starling notes that more than 40 shootings have taken place in the last 75 days in the area.

Starling and other community leaders are asking parents and other family members to get involved in their kids and their daily activities.

Miami Police will also be discussing their next gun buy back event, scheduled for April 19th.

Starling started the Rickia Isaac Foundation after his niece, who was just five years old, was killed by a stray bullet 15 years ago.
