Crews were working to repair a broken sewer line in Coral Gables Wednesday that had a no swimming advisory in effect.
The broken sewer line was underneath the Metrorail at U.S. 1 and S. Alhambra Circle, Coral Gables Police officials said.
Due to water contamination from the break, the Mahi Canal and nearby waterways were under a no swimming advisory, city officials said.
Police said one southbound lane of U.S. 1 and one northbound lane of Ponce De Leon were also closed as a result.
