Miami-Dade Police were called to the scene of a crash that left an elderly man in critical condition Tuesday.
It happened around 9 p.m. near Northwest 7th Avenue and Northwest Little River Drive.
According to investigators, the victim was crossing 7th Avenue when he was struck by a pickup truck.
81-year-old Tecean Phen of Miami was transported to Jackson Ryder Trauma in critical condition.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with police.
Police had previously reported this incident was a hit-and-run, which turned out to be false.
