A Florida International University football star, who suffered what police said were "severe burns" when his girlfriend threw boiling water on him, returned to the field Saturday night.
FIU senior tight end Jonnu Smith suited up for the Panthers less than a month after his pregnant girlfriend poured boiling water on various parts of his body, including his head, neck, back and arm.

Smith caught a pass in third the quarter- continuing his streak to 42 consecutive games with a catch.
Considered one of the top tight ends in college football this season, Smith was projected to be selected in the late rounds of April’s NFL Draft. He caught 39 passes this season for 441 yards and three touchdowns – catching one each in the team’s last three games.
