Fort Lauderdale Air Show Set to Zoom Over South Florida in May

The Fort Lauderdale Air Show is set to dip, dive and zoom back into Fort Lauderdale May 6-7.

The Canadian Armed Forces Snowbirds have been announced to headline the annual air show, soaring over thousands of spectators on Fort Lauderdale beach.

"We’ve got a great lineup coming together for this year and look forward to bringing the sound of freedom back to the skies over Fort Lauderdale beach," said the air show’s chairman Bryan Lilley in a statement.

The air show will also feature full capabilities demonstrations by the U.S. Air Force F1-6 Viper and a U.S. Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet.

The Snowbirds – Canada’s military aerobatics team – are expected to showcase the "skill, professionalism and teamwork" of the country’s forces personnel.

Team Oracle and Sean D. Tucker, the GEICO Skytypers and Mike Wiskus in the Lucas Oil Pitts have been announced as civilian performers, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.
