Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a news conference in Jupiter Monday morning to discuss new opportunities to help young people with unique challenges when it comes to education.
The governor was joined by Agency for Persons with Disabilities Director Taylor Hatch at the Els Center of Excellence in Jupiter as well as the center's founders Ernie and Liesel Els.
April is World Autism Month and during the news conference, DeSantis announced that this year’s budget will include more than $2.2 billion Agency for Persons with Disabilities.
“That is the highest amount ever appropriated in the history of Florida by a country mile,” DeSantis said.
