Officials say an inmate facing a possible death penalty has died at the Seminole County Jail.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that 64-year-old Michael Ross Friedman of Delray Beach was found dead Monday. He was accused of killing his ex-wife's boyfriend in June.

Prosecutors say Friedman went to his ex-wife's home in Winter Haven on June 24 and shot her boyfriend twice before beating her with a blunt object. They couple had divorced three months earlier.

He was charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and burglary.
