Authorities are investigating after a man's body was found in Pompano Beach Thursday morning.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said passers-by came across the body lying near some shrubs in a field across the street from Mitchell-Moore Park around 6:45 a.m.
The victim, later identified as 45-year-old Charles Roberson of Fort Lauderdale, had injuries to his body that would indicate he was brutally killed.
BSO's Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene.
Homicide detectives are now conducting interviews and reviewing the physical evidence. The Medical Examiner's office will determine cause of death.
