Miami Runners Hold 5K for Venezuela

Hundreds of runners gathered Tuesday night in Brickell in support of peace for Venezuela.

The 5k, coordinated by the Brickell Run Club, went around Brickell and Downtown Miami.

"We're showing Venezuela, 'Miami runs for you,'" organizer Frankie Ruiz said. "We run for peace."

The runners dressed in red, yellow and blue -- the colors of the Venezuelan flag.

"This is a way of letting the world know what's happening in Venezuela," runner Maria Fernanda Cabrera said. "We're telling people to pay attention to that small country that's fighting against liberty and insecurity."
