A Miami Springs Senior High School student was arrested after a 15-year-old classmate said he sexually battered her at the school, police said.
Jimmy Lee Boatwright, 18, was arrested Tuesday on charges including sexual battery on a minor by an adult, and lewd and lascivious battery on a child between 12 and 16, according to an arrest report.
The report said the girl told her father and school staff that she became friends with Boatwright and she performed oral sex on him twice during this school year.
But last week, while on school grounds, the girl said Boatwright sexually assaulted her in a secluded area as she tried to push him off her, the report said.
Boatwright was booked into jail, where he was being held Wednesday on $32,500 bond. Attorney information wasn't available.
"These allegations are disturbing and understandably upsetting as Miami-Dade County Public Schools goes to great lengths to ensure students and staff are provided with a safe and secure environment," a Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokesperson said in a statement. "We are fully cooperating with the law enforcement agency investigating this case."
