Residents of a problem-plagued Liberty City apartment building learned they won't be losing power Thursday.
The power will stay on at the Liberty City Apartments at 1231 Northwest 61st Street after Florida Power and Light fixed the issues at the building.
After NBC 6's stories exposed the problems, FP&L and the city inspected the building's meter room and found stolen and unsafe equipment. The city ordered the landlord to make repairs.
"This was very stressful, every day the news people here, UPS delivered us a letter saying they were gonna turn all of the power off," resident Katina Williams said. "I'm a diabetic, I have to have my insulin refrigerated daily, so it was very stressful."
