President Donald Trump is scheduled to have lunch with Gov. Rick Scott at 1 p.m. this New Year’s Eve, White House Officials said.
Officials say Trump invited Scott to lunch to discuss hurricane recovery efforts, the need to improve the nation’s aging infrastructure and other matters important to Floridians.
Gov. Scott's office said the governer "looks forward to speaking with the President about issues that are important to Floridians." The issues range from repairing the Herbert Hoover Dike surrounding Lake Okeechobee and the recovery of the Florida citrus industry in the wake of Hurricane Irma.
Trump is currently at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach County for the holidays.
