Shooting in Palmetto Bay Leads to School Lockdowns

Police are investigating a shooting in Palmetto Bay that had at least two schools on lockdown Friday.

Miami-Dade Police said there was a perimeter in the area of Southwest 152nd Street to 144th Street, and Old Cutler Road to 67th Avenue as they searched for a suspect.

Schools in the area were on lockdown as a precaution, police said. Westminister Christian School and Alexander Montessori School are the only schools in the area.

The lockdowns were later lifted. No other information was immediately known.
