The Official Super Bowl Weekend Kick Off

There are events outside of the clubs this Super Bowl weekend

Get your face paint right and your shoulder pads on because the game before the Big Game is about to kick off.

The blitz to hit Super Bowl weekend events before the club is here. There is plenty to choose from so we are going to stick with the football theme and treat this like the NFL draft and select our top 5 non-club events.

For us the No. 1 pick this year is (drum roll please) the DirecTV Celebrity Beach Bowl on South Beach. Nothing says Super Bowl like pampered celebs with little athletic skills frolicking in the sand. Who wouldn't want to see J. Lo tackling, well, anybody? And you can't beat the price. It's a free event. Gates open at noon.

With the second selection in the draft, we are going to hang with the West Coast rider Snoop Dogg at the Snoop Bowl VII. Mr. Dogg and Lawrence Taylor will be coaching the NFL's next, next generation of super stars at Traz Powell Stadium. Terrell Owens will also be on hand as the celebrity touchdown celebration coordinator.

We really like the third event's potential for explosiveness. Lingerie Bowl VII: The Ultimate Catfight will get it on at  6 p.m. in the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The Miami Caliente will be trying to bring a championship home in their underwear. Bring the kids, or not.

You can't have a Super Bowl without mixing in a little blessing. So before you make it rain in the champagne room, why not check out the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration tonight at 7:30 p.m. Be Be and Ce Ce Winans and Donnie McClurkin are scheduled to praise the roof off of the James L. Knight Center.

And for our final pick for the Super Bowl weekend events, the NBC committee selects the Super Bowl Saturday Night outdoor concert on Fort Lauderdale beach. Once again, with a price like free, you can't beat it and you get to hear great acts like O.A.R. and Barenaked Ladies.
