Tri-Rail Delayed After Car Collides With Train in Opa-locka

Tri-Rail commuters were seeing delays Wednesday morning after a car collided with a train in Opa-locka.

The incident happened just after 5:30 a.m. at Northwest 22nd Avenue and Rutland Street.

Aerial footage showed the train that had been halted to a stop. A nearby car could be seen with its front hood missing and on the ground.

The train did not appear to be in the way of traffic, but police had a few lanes blocked.

Tri-Rail tweeted that the southbound train would be late due to the incident.

It is not immediately clear whether anyone was injured.
