Woman Accused of Pepper Spraying Security Guards at 2 Miami-Dade Stores

A woman accused of using pepper spray on security guards at two separate Miami-Dade shopping centers has been arrested, police said.

Keerra Nashay Dean, 19, was arrested Thursday on charges including battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence, Miami-Dade Police said.

The first incident involving Dean happened at the Macy's store at Dadeland Mall back on April 1. Dean sprayed a can of mace in the face of loss prevention officers in an elevator before fleeing the store, according to an arrest report.

The second incident happened at the Forever 21 store at the Palms at Town & Country shopping center in June, police said. During that incident, Dean, a "known shoplifter," was spotted walking through the store with two bags of possible stolen merchandise, the arrest report said.

Dean sprayed an security officer in the face to flee the store, the arrest report said.

Dean was being held without bond Friday, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
