Davie Police arrested a woman Saturday after she left three young children inside an unlocked car in a Publix parking lot.
Marialie Sainville, 34, was placed under arrest and charged with three counts of child neglect without great bodily harm.
A Davie police officer was investigating a crash in the parking lot of a Publix located at 5997 Stirling Rd., when a citizen flagged down and advised the officer there were three small children alone in a vehicle.
Inside of the vehicle were three children, ages 1, 3, and 6. The doors were unlocked and the windows were halfway down with the engine off.
After a few minutes, Sainville approached the vehicle and said that they were her children. She told the officer that she was in the store looking for money that she believed she had dropped.
Sainville said that the 6-year-old child was watching the others.
