Woman Causes Six-Car Crash After Sunrise Bank Fraud

A woman who caused a six-car crash in Sunrise while trying to flee after committing a check fraud at a bank was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Sunrise Police said the woman committed the fraud at the bank in the area of Nob Hill Road and Oakland Park Boulevard before taking off in a car. A short time later, the woman caused the crash in on Oakland Park Boulevard near Hiatus Road, officials said.

One person who was injured in the crash was taken to a nearby hospital as a trauma alert. It's unknown if there were any other injuries.

The woman was taken into custody. Her name hasn't been released and it's unknown what exact charges she'll face.
