Woman Spots Apparent Coyote in Pembroke Pines Neighborhood

A Pembroke Pines woman said she spotted a coyote strolling around her neighborhood Thursday.

Photos show the animal sitting in a grassy area in the 19000 block of NW 2nd Street. Trujillo said she was able to capture the images through a mesh window in her house.

Trujillo added that she and her husband thought the animal was a dog at first, but later realized it was “indeed a coyote,” she said in an e-mail.

The apparent coyote initially sat at the top of a hill near Pines Boulevard, then tried to enter Trujillo’s courtyards.

Trujillo said she is concerned for the safety of her and her neighbors’ dogs, adding that a yellow cat that was often seen around the neighborhood suddenly disappeared.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
