After dealing with her husband's illness and her own business troubles, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has sought treatment for Bipolar II Disorder.
The 41 year-old actress checked herself into Silver Hill Hospital near New Canaan, Connecticut a few days ago, and a representative issued the following statement:
"After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II Disorder," the rep says. "She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week this week on her two upcoming films."

The past year, of course, saw husband Michael Douglas endure a long (but seemingly successful) battle with cancer, as well as a souring of Zeta-Jones' relationship with film festival organizers in her hometown of Swansea, South Wales.
Bipolar II Disorder is characterized by mood swings and a potential for sufferers to sink into episodes of depression. The episodes can be triggered by major stress or life changes.
News of Zeta-Jones' treatment comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed against Douglas by ex-wife Diandra.
