Policewoman Run Over Outside French President's Home

A female police officer stationed outside the French president's residence was hit by a car and slightly injured, raising tensions in a country on high alert after last week's terror attacks at the hands of three gunmen left 17 people dead, NBC news reported. The Paris Prefecture Police told NBC News that a car was driving the wrong way down the street in front of Elysee Palace when the driver stopped, panicked, then hit the policewoman accidentally in an attempt to move. The incident overnight had no apparent links to last week's shootings and appears to have been an accident. Two people have been arrested.
