Former S.C. Cop Who Fatally Shot Walter Scott Indicted

The white former South Carolina police officer who shot and killed Walter Scott as he ran, unarmed, has been indicted on a murder charge. The April 4 shooting was caught on video by a bystander and showed officer Michael Slager firing eight times at Scott, a 50-year-old black father who was unarmed and who ran after a traffic stop. The shooting rekindled the ongoing national debate about the treatment of black suspects at the hands of white officers.
