“Triple Threat” Storms Sweep Plains, Carolinas, Rockies

Tens of millions of people in the middle of the country are facing a three-day tornado threat — including places that were ravaged earlier this week by an outbreak of twisters, NBC News reported. Thunderstorms dumped torrential rain and threatened flooding across Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, and a tornado watch was posted for parts of Texas and Oklahoma. Meanwhile, a tropical storm is slowly grinding its way toward the coast of North and South Carolina, bringing threats of floods and rip currents, while a separate cold front could drop up to two feet of snow on the central and northern Rockies.
