“The Walls Were Shaking”: Rebel Shelling Kills 15 in East Ukraine

A rebel attack on the east Ukrainian city of Mariupol killed 15 people and injured 76 on Saturday, Ukraine's interior ministry told Reuters. "The walls were shaking, the window frames were shaking, paint started to crumble off the house. In the basement you could hear the earth tremble," said a woman who lives in the city's suburbs. The rocket attacks mark some of the region's most intense fighting in months, as Russian-backed separatists have rejected peace talks and renewed their deadly attacks on Ukrainian territory.
