“Toxic Brew” of Unrest in Iraq, Syria Leads to Refugee Crisis

Widespread violence in neighboring countries Iraq and Syria has led to a "toxic brew" of unrest that has forced millions of people from their homes, NBC News reported. Nearly 1 million refugees already in Iraq have combined with more than 3 million refugees from Syria to create a massive humanitarian crisis. "The potential toxic brew of two neighboring countries in such a volatile region imploding has grave humanitarian consequences," said the International Rescue Committee in a statement. President Obama said Thursday he is considering "all the options," although ground troops have been ruled out, according to White House officials.
