Magic Edge Heat in Bosh's Return

The Heat got Chris Bosh back on Monday but lost for the 12th time in Miami

Chris Bosh was unable to help the Miami Heat avoid another loss at home as his team fell to the Orlando Magic 102-101 on Monday.

Bosh had missed eight games with a calf injury and played well. It wasn't enough for Miami however as it fell to 6-12 on the year at American Airlines Arena. The loss ended a lackluster seven-game homestand for the Heat. Overall this season, Miami has a 14-18 record and it sits in eighth in the conference standings.

Danny Granger had a second consecutive solid outing. The veteran gave the Heat 32 minutes off the bench featuring 21 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal. Granger was 6 of 7 on his three-point tries which was far and away the best mark on the team.

In 33 minutes, Bosh had 20 points, eight rebounds, and a steal. Bosh showed no signs of any persisting injury and did not appear to miss a step despite the layoff.

One position that stood out due to its lack of production was point guard. Both starter Mario Chalmers and reserve Norris Cole struggled in this one. Chalmers had two points and two assists in 30 minutes. Cole meanwhile only had six points and four assists in his 35 minutes. If that continues, the Heat may give Shabazz Napier a few minutes again.

Hassan Whiteside continued to open eyes in his 18 minutes. The rookie had eight points and seven rebounds along with two steals.

Dwyane Wade took the final shot of the game for Miami and missed at the buzzer. Wade tried to sink a fadeaway off a timeout but was doubled on defense. In the game, the guard had 25 points and was a perfect 11-11 from the free-throw line.

The Heat will next take on the Indiana Pacers this Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
