It appears Miami and St. Louis' loss is Vancouver's gain. Multiple sources were reporting Tuesday that MLS will announce Wednesday that Vancouver has been awarded one of the two available expansion bids for the 2011 season.

Throughout the expansion process it appeared Vancouver was running as a longshot bid. Yet as time went by, perceived frontrunners like Montreal and Miami dropped by the wayside and it appears Vancouver was ready to pick up the ball.

It probably doesn't hurt that NBA superstar -- and Canadian -- Steve Nash is part of the ownership group and his brother plays for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the USL.
