The Miami Hurricanes have dismissed offensive lineman Taylor Gadbois from the team, coach Al Golden announced Thursday.
"Taylor is a bright young man and we wish him the best in his future academic and athletic endeavors," Golden said in a statement.
Gadbois addressed the issue on Twitter, saying it wasn't his decision and thanking fans, players and coaches for support.

Sources close to the football team told NBC 6 Gadbois had already been suspended through mid-October for a violation that happened last season. Sources didn't give details on the suspension but said it wasn't academic in nature.
The sources said more problems cropped up Wednesday during the team's training session called "The Program." Gadbois had mouthed off during the session in front of coaches and teammates, the sources said, and the staff was already concerned that Gadbois was a negative influence on the younger players, so it was the last straw.
Gadbois, from Dallas, Ga., joined the Hurricanes in 2012 and was redshirted. He started five games last year before suffering a season-ending injury against Duke.
