Showers and Thunderstorms Move Through South Florida Sunday Night

NBCUniversal Media, LLC

Sunday proved to be a wet day around South Florida as rain totals pushed 2-4” across the two-county area.

Thankfully, a brighter break will come into the forecast for the start of the workweek before rain chances, again, increase.

Monday will introduce more sunshine to the pattern as a batch of dry air limits rain chances.

Afternoon highs will reach into the upper 80s as warm and humid conditions remain.

However, Tuesday through Friday will feature daily shower chances as the tail end of the rainy season wraps up.

In the tropics, Julia made landfall Sunday morning as the season’s fifth hurricane, barreling across Nicaragua.

As the system moves in the eastern Pacific, heavy rains will spread across Central America with the continued threat of flooding and mudslides.

There are no additional development areas of concern at this time.
