The media has been all-a-flutter since the release of Chelsea Handlers stand up regarding her dislike for Angelina Jolie. Not only has the only lady of late night come under some serious scrutiny, multiple tabloids are saying it has caused a split between Handler and pal Jennifer Aniston. But comedian and “Chelsea Lately” writer Brad Wollack says it’s just simply not true.
“People tend to believe anything they read," he told Niteside, "Until you read an untrue story about someone you have a personal connection with, you read it and think, “Is everything I read total fabrication?”
He added, “Everything about Chelsea and Jen—that is all so stupid. There is no truth to that.”
Wollack will be headlining the Fort Lauderdale Improv Friday to Monday night along with fellow comedians John Caparulo and Natasha Leggero. Even though he might be a writer for the funny lady by day, he is a top comedian by night. And while you might get to see him a few days a week on “Chelsea Lately,” he says you get to see a different side of the comedians from the roundtalbe when they get behind the mic.
“That’s the great thing about 'Comedians Of Chelsea Lately.' Yes, you get to see the people you love, but you get to see that we have our own voices and thoughts on other things other than Lindsay Lohan and have perspective on the world. I think it's refreshing for fans. No Lindsay Lohan stuff in my act—I don’t like to talk about other red heads.”
But he has to admit, he doesn’t mind his day job.
“People tell us it’s a pretty great place to work. And I would have to agree. Everyone at ‘Lately’ gets along and we're all friends in real life . Really it all comes back to Chelsea. Her philosophy is let's get the work done, but lets have fun, too. “
And for anyone wondering what is up with his boss's dating life, well you will have to keep wondering.
“He [50 Cent] is a really nice guy. That is all I will say about that. Her personal life, I don’t want to get into it. All I can say is that he is a very nice guy. He is a real sweetheart.”
