2013 Peabody Winners Announced: "Girls," "Game Change," "Doctor Who" Nab Plum Honors

    "Girls'" gal is enjoying quite the winning streak.

    Multihyphenate super-threat Lena Dunham--who's already won two Golden Globes and a Directors Guild Award, and shared a win at the Writers Guild Awards--is adding yet another accolade to her burgeoning haul: a Peabody.

    The 26-year-old's hit HBO show is among this year's recipients of the prestigious media award, organizers announced Wednesday.

    She's in pretty estimable company: Other honorees include Louis C.K.'s "Louie," Julianne Moore's spot-on Sarah Palin indictment "Game Change" and TNT's gritty police drama "Southland."

    Robin Roberts also scored some well-deserved kudos: "Robin's Journey," a public-service campaign that began as a special "20/20" episode chronicling the "Good Morning America" anchor's battle with myelodysplastic syndrome and her subsequent bone-marrow transplant, also made the cut.

    And lest you think that the Peabodys turn a blind eye to the nerd herd, fanboys will be happy to learn that British sci-fi cult fave "Doctor Who" will be honored with an Institutional Peabody.

    The 39 awards will be handed out on May 20 at a luncheon at New York City's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel hosted by CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley.
