10-Year-Old Talks About Frightening Abduction

Boy kidnapped off Miami street wants abductor caught

A 10-year-old Miami boy says he's glad to be home after he was abducted by a man  off an Allapata street last week.

"Mainly, I thought he was going to lock me up in his house and not let me do anything," said Emmet Green Tuesday night, safe at his home days after his ordeal.

Police say Green and his friend were walking eastbound on Northwest 34th street near 27th Avenue around 9 p.m. on Nov. 4 when they were approached by the suspect.

The suspect asked, "Is your mom looking for you?" and grabbed Green and put him inside his car, a silver or gray Hummer.

Green said they drove around for about 20 minutes, and that he kicked the suspect and tried to get away. The kidnapper finally dropped him off in the area of Northwest 1st Ave and 96th Street in Miami.

"I ran to the main street and I saw a man. He was on the corner so I asked him can I use his phone, call my mom 'cuz I just been kidnapped," Green said.

Aunt Cicely Williams said she was thankful he was OK.

"We're very proud of him, he did everything that was right. He did everything he could not to be a victim," Williams said. "We don’t want any other families to go through what we went through, it was very hard and no child should ever have to endure that, ever."

Police released a sketch of the suspect, who is described as a Latin male about 25 to 35 years old. He is about 200 lbs, 5'8 to 5'9 in height, with a muscular build, spiky hair and clean-shaven face.

The Hummer the suspect was driving went through a SunPass lane and police said they may soon have a complete license plate number for the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.

Green said he hopes the kidnapper is caught before he targets another child.

"Really, I think he should be caught and put in jail behind bars mainly," he said. "'Cuz he's a bad guy by kidnapping me and putting me in a car."
