    Gov. Rick Scott and members of the Florida Cabinet are expected to discuss Florida's pension plan and take up other issues related to bonds and state land exchanges.

      POLICE SHOOT, KILL MAN YIELDING AX
     
    St. Petersburg police say officers responded to a call of a man threatening residents with the ax. The man then charged at the officers, one of whom shot the suspect.
     
    COAST GUARD RESCUES 2 BOATERS OFF KEY WEST
     
    The men had called for help when their boat began taking on water. The Coast Guard found the men floating in the water with their life jackets. The men were not injured.
     
    CENTRAL FLORIDA CITY CONSIDERS NAME CHANGE
     
    Residents of Orange City may soon get to decide whether to change the city's name to Blue Spring. The city council will consider the name change proposal on Tuesday.

    Burger King wants its customers to feel a little less guilty about eating french fries. They're launching a new crinkle-cut fry on Tuesday that they say has about 20 fewer calories that the regular fries.

    SUSPECT WITH PICKAXE HOSPITALIZED AFTER POLICE-INVOLVED SHOOTING

    A suspect who was armed with a pickaxe was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious condition after being shot by police in southwest Miami-Dade Monday night, police said.
