Authorities say a Monroe County Sheriff’s corrections officer was arrested for driving under the influence.

Celso Hernandez  faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Authorities said they received calls Thursday night that a truck was weaving in traffic and driving off the roadway into the bike path and then back on the road.

The truck was found parked up against bushes outside a restaurant, and Hernandez was in the driver’s seat with the keys still in the ignition, authorities said.

Authorities said the truck had run out of gas.

He refused field sobriety exercises and had trouble standing up by himself, authorities said. He also refused to take a breathalyzer test at the jail, authorities said.

It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
