Clearwater Police investigate after a woman was found engulfed in flames at her home.
Investigators want to know how a woman caught on fire in her Clearwater home.
Officials say 44-year-old Rhonda Wolfe died late Wednesday, hours after she was found engulfed in flames inside her Clearwater home's garage. Her husband called 911 and she was flown to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
She had been in critical condition after suffering third-degree burns on 100 percent of her body, Clearwater Police said.
According to public safety officials in Clearwater, Wolfe's husband found her fully engulfed in flames inside the garage of their home at 2880 Lemonwood Street.
Police and fire officials were at the scene early Thursday. An official from the State Fire Marshal's Office, and the fire department's arson dog were also at the house.
An autopsy is planned. No further details were immediately available.
