Man Found Shot to Death in Lauderhill

Police investigating after man shot in strip mall parking lot

Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death at a parking lot in Lauderhill late Wednesday.

The body of 27-year-old Conrad Luke was found at a strip mall in the 1600 block of N. State Road 7 around 11:30 p.m. Lauderhill Police spokeswoman Constance Stanley said.

Stanley said a 911 caller attempted to give the man CPR but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A couple of the businesses in the mall are open 24 hours and witnesses saw several cars flee the area after the shooting, Stanley said.

The victim's sister, Karen Luke, said an argument over a bicycle led to the shooting

"I'm devastated," Karen Luke said. "To shoot him multiple times like he was a dog, about a bike, that's just ridiculous, that's just ridiculous."

She said police told her that her brother was shot multiple times.

"They say they shot him about eight times, he was trying to run the first time and then they just shot him again and he died instantly," she said.

The shooting is still being investigated.
