Man Used Craigslist to Rob People: Cops

Authorities say Euclide Joseph responded to a Craigslist ad to buy an iPhone

A man was arrested after admitting to using Craigslist to rob people at gunpoint, authorities said Monday.

According to online jail records, Euclide Fabian Joseph, 19, faces charges including robbbery/firearm. Authorities said he responded to an ad on Craigslist to buy an iPhone.

He contacted Chelsea Joseph and made arrangements to meet for the sale.

On Sunday, Chelsea Joseph and another person, Sheno Newton, met with Joseph, the arrest report said. He got in their vehicle and proceeded to point a handgun at Chelsea Joseph and then ran away on foot with the iPhone, the report said.

Newton tried to run after him, unaware that he was armed, but then Joseph pointed the gun at him, authorities said. They then called authorities.

Police found Joseph at a residence where he admitted to the offense and led officers to the weapon and iPhone, the report said.

The defendant also admitted to an unrelated robbery where he stole Nike sneakers at gunpoint, authorities said.

All the victims said they will press charges against him. It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
