City of Miami Commissioner Keon Hardemon delivers Christmas gifts to the family of a little girl who went missing from her Little Haiti home.

A young girl who disappeared from her yard at her Little Haiti home will have a merrier Christmas thanks to a City of Miami Commissioner.

Keon Hardemon donated Christmas gifts to the family of the 4-year-old girl who was taken from her home for nearly two days before she was found safe Sunday.

"It's my pleasure to be able to assist this family in experiencing some holiday cheer, bringing them some toys, bikes and things of that nature," Hardemon said Thursday.

Her father said the outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming.

"Everybody helped me to find this baby, I'm very happy, now I'm sleeping good, now I feel charmed because everybody's doing something," he said.

Police haven't said what exactly happened to the girl, who was taken Friday as she was playing with her sister and friends.

Detectives are still searching for the suspect or suspects who may have taken the girl, and were handing out flyers in the neighborhood Wednesday to try to generate more leads.

The flyer depicts sketches of two suspects but it could be the same man. One is of a man seen roaming the Little Haiti area when the girl went missing; the other is of the man police say returned the girl Sunday morning.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
